5 omicron cases detected in Hidalgo Co. as Lower Valley cases explode

Hidalgo County announced Tuesday that five people have tested positive for the omicron variant of COVID-19. They are the first confirmed cases in the county, and joins Cameron County which confirmed its first case Monday afternoon and where cases exploded
